I am researching my Grandmother's family, namely PEARCE .

I have traced back to a George Pearce, born in Bisley c. 1826. There is some variation as to his exact age on the censuses. The only record I have of a George Pearce born in Bisley was to a Mary Pearce (Place of abode Kitlye) baptised aged 15 months in 1826 at Bisley parish church.

He was presumably illegitimate as no father is given on the baptism record or on his marriage records. He was married to Ellen Blake and later to Dinah Smith from Minchinhampton. He moved to Stroud.

His children were Frederick b. 1851 to first wife.

Then to second wife:

Mary Jane 1859, Albert 1862, Arthur 1866, Alice 1869, William1872, Sarah1874, George1880

Any information gratefully received and any help willingly given!

Hingley.

Many thanks for your reply. Havr only just read it. No, it is another george Pearce I am afraid but thanks anyway. It's possible that a lot of those Pearces were related but there does seem to be a lot of them!
