Hello
I have been looking at your site and I have a FRY family from Bisley and wonder if anyone has any information on them for whether you would like to add them to your site.

I believe my 5x grandfather could be a William FRY c1860, 4x is Richard FRY Christened 15 May 1780 in BisleyParish Married Elizabeth ? They moved to Bristol where Richard FRY b. 24th December 1816. and possibly daughterElizabeth Fry too.

The family moved on to Weston Super-mare took over what is now the Royal Hotel calling it Fry's Hotel. It had been the first Hotel to be built in Weston Super-mare. He put up money for the rebuilding of the Parish Church in Weston Super-mare in 1823/4 and some of the original stone from the old church appears in Victoria Cottage which was built in 1838 and where daughter Elizabeth and her husband Joseph JAMES lived.

Richard jnr sailed for New Zealand on the John Wickcliff, landing 1847. where he married Agnes McLEOD from Edinburgh who sailed over on the Mary in 1848.They had a family of eight children all born in Waikouaiti.

I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who knows any more about this line of FRY's

Regards, Debbie Valentine
