I think that I have now found the correct Franklin family. The Father ,William, ties up with the Father named on the marriage certificate for the Charles Franklin that I am researching.

The family as at the 1841 census were:

William b c1795 - Stone Mason in Bisley
Caroline b c1795 in Cirencester
Frederick b c1822 - Stone Mason
Sarah b c1826
Eliza b c1829
Charlesb c 1831 - My great*3 Grandfather
James b c1833
Henry b c1837

Any information on these Franklins would be greatly appreciated.

I am searching to extend my knowledge of my Franklin great grandparents, Robert Franklin and Eliza Smith Franklin, she ws the daughter of Robert Smith.
Robert was born in Gloucestershire in 1849, parents were Jacob Franklin and Jane Higgs Frankli n, Jane was the daughter of Robert Higgs.
Jacob was born in Bisley about 1820. Jacob and Jane were married at Minchinhampton Church on Dec 7 1845, then lived at Pinfarthings. Jacob is listed as a jounrneyman mason. They are burried at Holy TRinity Church at Amberley.
Jacob's father is listed as Thomas Franklin, mason. We have no birth record or death record. I am anxious to learn more about this grandfather. There were many Franklins who were masons in this area?

My grandfater Robert along with his brother John, immigrated to the Eastern United States in 1868, Eliza came three years later. He worked on stone carving on some notable public buildings. Eventually bought acerage in IL.
His son Walter Franklin my grandfather, moved to California in 1928. In mid August all of his descendants are having their annual Franklin Family. Reunion
Any thoughts on who THomas Franklin was would be appreciated.

Thank you, Valeria Franklin Toms, Pasadena, California
