Hello Bisley,

What a beautiful village you have!

My 3xgt grandfather, George Parker, described as a shoemaker on the 1851 census, was born in the Stroud registration district in 1788 (I believe), but married a girl from Bisley called Dinah Herbert, who was born in about 1806. They were married at Bisley on 18th November 1829 and went on to have six children.

The children were Ann A (c1828), George (c1828), Hope (c1831), Mercy (c1833), Josias (c1835 - my 2xgt grandfather) and Joel (c1837).

I would like to go back further than George and Dinah, but don't have any idea of which Parker or Herbert family either of them came from. They were living at Eastcombe on the 1841 census. I would also like any information on the other children if there is any available.

Can anyone help, please.
